Irish Taxi 2.0 is a combination of our own ideas, our user suggestions and also a reflection of the Irish taxi industry needs. Our aim has been to keep it light and simple while improving existing and adding some new features that make it even a better service for everyone. We hope to have achieved that in this update and the next couple of months will stand as a testament to that success.

What’s New In Irish Taxi 2.0

Here’s a list of changes included in the update:

- Updated design
- Improved taxi listing service
- New Deals section. Find local taxi deals offered in your area
- Major improvements on Fare Estimator’s speed and accuracy
- New Fare Estimator’s Map feature displays recommended route on a map
- New Deal Suggestions. Fare Estimator will automatically suggest a fixed fare deal if one is available for selected route

We hope our users will enjoy the value that this update brings to them, while taxi service providers will identify the advertising opportunities available with Irish Taxi app. Apparently there’s loads of great taxi deals and offers provided by taxi companies all over the country that people haven’t even heard off yet. Over the next couple of months we will be speaking to all of those companies to make sure their deals are on our app so we can all enjoy them!

Another bit of news came through on Friday after Apple finally approved our Irish Taxi v1.0.1 update. It’s only a small update this time to fix some of the bugs that came out over the last few weeks.  Here’s the list of changes to the app:

- Fixed issues with incorrect payment icons in Taxi details view.
- Fixed an issue with Reset button in Fare Estimator view.

This morning we are very pleased to release another update for our taxi company database. Update includes over 50 new taxi companies across the country as well as updated information for the ones we already had. Irish Taxi app will update automatically for all of our users next time they use the app.

In addition we’d like to let everyone know that from now on we will make these updates a regular practice and they will be released every Monday morning.

We are very pleased to announce that this morning we released our first taxi database update! Irish Taxi app will automatically update next time it’s used. If you run it while connected to WiFi, then most likely you won’t even notice it happen. On 3G connection the update should take 5-10 seconds and you will see a message at the top saying it is updating database and icons.

The update includes:

• Over a hundred new taxi companies throughout the country
• Updated information and logos for a number of taxi companies
• Old and outdated taxi companies removed
